Justin Reinert is an experienced Talent Leader who led two organizations to place in Training Magazine’s prestigious Training Top 125 Award in 2014 & 2017. He holds an MA in Educating Adults from DePaul University, along with multiple industry leading certifications, including the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Beginning his career in sales for global banking giant HSBC, he quickly moved into a role which centralized all training for Account Executives in 1,400 branches across the United States. Upon success in helping to create this program he moved on to the greater Corporate Training team, focusing in Leadership Development with an employee base of over 55,000. It was here that he honed his skills in large group facilitation with leaders at all levels, and managed several enterprise-wide learning projects to create greater organizational efficiency. It was also in this role that he began to dabble in Talent Management and Talent Acquisition, assisting with the selection of candidates for an International Graduate Development Program.
With this success in building a solid foundation of Adult Learning Principles and Leadership Theory, he moved on to his next challenge of building out the entire training function for Enterprise Software – Configure, Price and Quote leader, BigMachines. Starting from scratch, Justin built out a comprehensive Sales Training curriculum for all new Account Executives leading to 50% year over year growth. He then went on to continue building the training team and consulting with various organizational leaders to build out curriculum for the entire organization. In addition to developing all training programs, Justin led the organization through a cultural transformation resulting in improved organizational metrics across the board. Later taking on leadership of the full Human Resources function, he led the team to build out new competency models for all positions across the organization and subsequently implement a modern performance review process.
When BigMachines was acquired by Oracle in 2014, Justin worked with the M&A team of Oracle to seamlessly merge BigMachines into the greater Oracle organization. Once this feat was done, Justin worked closely with the Oracle Direct Sales team as a Senior HR Business Partner, consulting on strategic people issues. In this partnership, Justin additionally ran Talent Reviews and Succession Planning for over 100 managers in the 1,200-employee team.
In 2015, Justin moved on to lead the regional training function at SThree where he built out a training team and multiple training programs to address development at all phases of the employee lifecycle. Less than a year after joining, Justin took on responsibility for the Talent Acquisition team, providing leadership to streamline processes and implement cognitive and job fit testing for use in candidate evaluation, in addition to rolling out a new ATS for greater candidate process visibility.
With a passion for Leadership Theory and Organizational Effectiveness, Justin brings a priority to align talent objectives to the results of the organization. “Many organizations fall short in the fact that they deliver training just because it is a ‘good idea’ or ‘nice to have’. By aligning all talent activities and the focus of each employee to the desired results of the organization, they feel empowered to help drive organizational success.” This methodology was greatly demonstrated in Justin’s work at BigMachines, not only in the validation of an award-winning training organization, but by positively impacting all bottom line business results.
